The Mackel Celebrity Scramble was first held in 2023 as a way to help generate funds for The Mackel Scholarship through the Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour. In 2026, the Kelly Gibson Foundation began producing the event, and with this, created a new Scholarship Fund supporting children of First Responders in the Greater New Orleans area. Proceeds from The Mackel Celebrity Scramble will now support The Mackel Scholarship Fund, with scholarships being awarded beginning in 2027.
