Kelly Gibson Foundation Honors Military and First Responders through KGF Community Heroes Program

November 5, 2018

Each day, thousands of men and women across the country put their lives on the line to fight for our freedom and protect our neighborhoods. They help us when we are in need and we are proud to give back to them.

As a way to thank these brave members of our community for their sacrifices, the KGF Community Heroes program affords the opportunity for local military personnel, law enforcement, or first responders to attend a New Orleans Saints home game.

In addition to receiving game tickets provided by the Kelly Gibson Foundation, Cajun Corner also provides each hero with meal vouchers. In addition, each hero’s story is highlighted on KGF's social media and website. Our other game-day partners include Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and Payton’s Play it Forward Foundation.

“I want to personally thank the Kelly Gibson Foundation for providing my family with this experience,” said Michael Cheramie, USMC, Retired. “I am humbled that I was recognized for my service and given the opportunity to see a game that was part of football history!” Drew Brees’s record- breaking night for all-time passing yards marked Cheramie’s first time attending an NFL football game.

On Sunday, September 11, 2016, our organization was proud to introduce the KGF Community Heroes program to recognize local service men and women. The program continues to honor individuals by awarding three (3) tickets to each of the 2018 New Orleans Saints regular season home games. The tickets are ADA accessible, if handicap access is required.

If you know someone in your community that you would like to nominate to be our next hero, visit http://www.kellygibsonfoundation.org/kgf-community-heroes or contact Olivia Haskins, Director of Marketing, at olivia@thekellygibsonfoundation.org.
