As part of our mission, the Kelly Gibson Foundation is proud support military initiatives. On November 16, 2018, we introduced a new event to benefit children of military families. This golf tournament, held at Tchefuncta Country Club, consisted of over 80 golfers to help raise funds for scholarships awarded to children of military families. There was a prominent military presence at the event, including 42 veterans who were honored for their service. Some of these veterans also participated in the event. Among those honored was WWII Veteran Mr. Salvador “Sam” Perino.

The National WWII Museum's Victory Three Band greeted guests as they arrived and provided pre-tournament entertainment. Mandeville High School's JROTC presented the colors for the singing of the National Anthem. Tournament play began at 12pm with food and beverage provided out on the course.

“Swing hard for soldiers was a great event honoring us and great time and experience. Kelly Gibson is a hero to many in his community. He always leads from the front.” Andrew Mick ODA 2313 3/20th Special Forces (Ret.)

A special memorial area was on display to recognize those who have served our country and are no longer with us.
